India - Finland - Air Services Agreement

The Finland - India Air Services Agreement was signed in 1995 (amended 2006). The agreement is in force. The amendments of 2006 are provisionally applied.

Designation principles

Multiple designation. A designation may be refused if one Party is not satisfied that substantial ownership
and effective control of the designated airline are vested in the Party designating the airline or in its
nationals.

Traffic rights for the designated airline of Finland

Route possibilities: Points in Finland - One point in the territories of Belarus, Germany, Latvia, the Russian Federation, Ukraine and United Kingdom - Delhi and Mumbai/Chennai. Chennai may be served in combination with Delhi. Beyond points to be agreed at a later date. Exercise of fifth freedom rights is allowed to the above mentioned intermediate points. The designated airline(s) may serve any intermediate or beyond points without exercising fifth freedom rights. Unused traffic rights are presently available.

Capacity regime

Designated airlines may freely determine the capacity to be provided. Presently, there is a maximum of seven frequencies per week in each direction with aircraft of any type to Delhi and equally seven weekly frequencies to Mumbai or Chennai. One of the airports must be served by seven frequencies a week before designated airline(s) are permitted to serve another airport in India.

Tariff regime

Tariffs are not required to be filed with, or approved by the authorities.
